When asked about himself, all he wanted to say was "Quack". I still don't know if this is a statement about his methaphysical self, or if it is just sheer lazyness.

20. Martin
From: Gothenburg, Sweden
I'm 26 years old. Programming skills.. None? Well, Im the typical poke-around-here-and-there guy, that just knows the basics in PHP, ASP, C/C++ and VB. Can write simpler (very simple) programs from scratch, but can cut and paste my way through a bigger project =) So, why do I enter? Because I love games and it's time to learn a language thoroughly and after poking around in Allegro I figured I'd give it a try... My goal with this contest is to Win! Nah, to learn first of all, although, collecting 1 point from the judge would no be bad =)

I've only participated in one contest like this before (a ludum dare one) but had a great time. I wish these things happened more often. Its amazing to see what you can force yourself to do when there's a deadline. Thanks for running this competition, I'm sure it will be a ton of fun.

I like to think of myself as a hobby-game-developer, this weekend I will find out if it is real or just my imagination. I have no prior experience with Allegro - so I guess I will have to start learning.

27. Elias
From: Germany
I'm an old speedhack veteran, taking part in many Allegro speedhacks, and even in a Ludumdare and an RPGDX speedhack. Lately, I usually seem to run out of time because there's other things to do besides speedhacking. But if I can make it in, prepare to have some hard competition! :)

28. Mark
From: Oxford, England
I'm 28, a web programmer from Oxford, England, and my problem is I never finish anything. I entered one speedhack before, the Allegro Speedhack 2003, but unfortunately I went away for most of the weekend, therefore submitted an entry in just 12 hours - which broke several rules and therefore didn't win. Although I was the first to submit an entry.

31. david cullen (dcullen)
I started programming BASIC on a TI/994A in 1983 at age 13, so I've been at this for 20 years. My first game was a 2-D car driving simulation whose major feature was that the cars skidded through turns. I guess you could call that my first attempt at modelling game physics. Now I write games for the video gambling industry. I'm nervous about entering TINS because I'm a really slow programmer. But I'm still going to give it a try.
