The final results are up, take a look at the results page. Congratulations to the winners! So with that, this competition has ended. As always, it took me much more time to organize it than I had planned, but I had fun and I learned php on the way so I guess I'm better off in the end. I've taken the database offline. All the reviews can still be viewed as a static page. I've removed the message logs but in case you're interested I still keep them backed up.

I've turned the Logging system on, you're allowed to post your first message if you want. Be sure to check back regularily during the competition! Disclaimer: the system is hacked together in a couple of days so it is very rudimentary. For example, there is no ways to edit posts, sorry! The rules will appear automatically at the right time in the rules section. As soon as you can see them, you can start coding! Good luck!

IRC Channel - BAF has started an IRC channel dedicated to this competition on freenode. This may be very useful during the competition for being in direct contact with the organization and with other contestants. The channel is #allegro-tins on FreeNode, check here for a list of freenode servers Log system - I'm proud to announce that this year we will have again a progress logging system for the competition. I've been updating last years system and it is almost done. The system is designed for posting progress reports and screenshots. Being able to see eachothers progress in real time is great for the competition spirit! Rule change - There is another slight rule change with respect to code re-use. Since there have been a lot of questions regarding this issue on allegro.cc, I've ruled that you can only reuse code that is available online, or that is more than 6 months old. Just to make it absolutely clear about what you can and can't reuse.

A small update: we've decided to increase the maxiumum file size from 250k to 400k (zipped).
This means that assuming an average compression ratio of 50% you can make your entry up to
about 800k in size. And there was much rejoicing :) The registration for candidates is going strong now, at the time of this writing there are 29 entrants from all over the world. The majority is from either Europe or North America, but there are also entrants from South America and Australia.
