You can find it here:

This is the source and the data needed to compile and run Trainee.
http://tigge.is-a-geek.org/trainee_winbinonly.zip
This is windows binaries and dlls you can use if you do not want to compile Trainee. Remember that you need both the trainee_srcdata.zip and this file if you want to do this.

Even more progress.
The framework with menus and everything are mostly done. The mapeditor recieved a few additions (like load and save dialogs)
The trains are in, the tracks are in, time is a very important element in the game. The only thing still left is the help system and the ASCII gfx. I was hoping I could combine those.
The graphics are redone (at least the tracks) and I added some new enviroments like snow and desert.
I still need a more track switches. If you have an idea. please tell me.
Here is some random shot from both the game and the map editor:

No things are moving along fine. The game is playable (there is only one level tough and not much of anything else is done) and it seems like it can turn out to be at least a little bit of fun.
I change the track handeling code for the third time. Now information is loaded from a configuration file at start wich mean I don't have to change code to add or remove track pieces and switches. The system works fine but is still a little bloated.
Here is what the game looks like right now:

If I wouldn't have asked I too would have tought it started 0:00 saturday morning. Next time can we have the start and end time in standard 24-h clock too? =)

I'm progressing, not fast tough but not slow either. The code for train motion along a track is done and I should now be able to concentrate on the gameplay.
And for all you Bowie fans:

I'm starting in the right place. The map editor is coming along fine. Right now its just got some basic functionality but it will be extended as I go along.

I think I got a basic idea that should work and sounds fun.
* The goal of the game is to let a train pass from the start of the track until the end. The problem is that the track could miss certain parts or perhaps some track switches are set the wrong way. (Artistic requirement)
* After a certain amount of time the train starts to move. If you are not done placing your tiles you are in trouble (Genre requirement)
* An in game help can be brought up at any time this will contain ASCII-art to get the player to understand. (Technical requrements)
Here is a little idea of what the game _could_ look like:
